Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank: Produce to People Volunteer Event

Join fellow alumni, parents, and friends in giving back to the Pittsburgh community by volunteering with the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank. NOTE: Space is limited, and registration is required. Registration closes on Tuesday, December 2.

Cost: Free

Registration for this event is now closed. Please contact Lauren Henry with any questions.

Produce to People distributes fresh fruit, vegetables, and other grocery items to local at-need families, and this eye-opening volunteer experience will enable participants to experience firsthand the food insecurity that exists in our community and to participate directly in the Food Bank's fight against hunger in the Pittsburgh area. Volunteers will help to unload product from trucks, set up the distribution line, distribute items to the recipients, and assist elderly individuals in carrying their groceries.

The event is limited to 20 participants, so please register sooner rather than later to ensure your spot. Please note that volunteers must be 12 or older and be able to lift and stand for four hours and follow directions. Please be prepared to get your hands dirty—and dress accordingly. It's a good idea to eat prior to coming to the distribution site and to bring a bottle of water with you. Parking is available.
