Do you find yourself daydreaming at work asking, “Is this really it? Is this the life I was meant to live and the world changing adventure I was supposed to have?” Have you spent any time in the last 12 months thinking you should switch careers, finally start that entrepreneurial venture, or learn how to code? If so, this webinar will set you on the path to some exciting answers by challenging you to ask yourself better questions.
Elatia Abate (AB ’99, MBA ’08) will present the journey from the initial desire for “more” from your professional life – greater meaning, fulfillment, happiness, impact, fun, etc. – to the construction of your own ideal career. She will detail the stops along the way, including the importance of recognizing and challenging your assumptions about what is possible. She will also discuss the nuts and bolts of effectively presenting your story in the mysterious universe of job applications.
Elatia helps talented people who crave more interesting and fulfilling professional lives craft careers that don’t feel like work. Her unique approach combines unbridled enthusiasm, techniques from design thinking and improv comedy and many years of recruiting experience.
Prior to starting this practice, she ran global recruiting for both Anheuser-Busch InBev and Dow Jones & Company. Elatia graduated with honors in Political Science from the University of Chicago and received her MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
